We hope that this weekly newsletter finds you all doing well and having fun in
Mafia Wars, regardless of their usual glitches. We ask that all members of [TDSM] go check out our web page which is still being adjusted for the best content possible. Please drop by and then let us know what would make it look better/more functional. Your opinions count because this page is for YOU, and is a representation of the WHOLE family! Please go to the [TDSM] web page and let us know what you think. Our web page has a lot of shortcuts via hyperlinks that will take you to places ranging from our mafia family pages, to games that you can use when facebook is down! So, go there and have a look around, even send us a tweet if you want.
You can benefit from using our page in your start up menu. The benefits of this are as follows...
1. You can click on any of the links, and most pictures, to go straight to that page or any of our pages that you desire, PROVIDED you are a tagged member or approved ally.
2. While playing Mafia Wars you can now listen to music.
3. While waiting for stamina or energy you can play other games we have made available to you for free.
4. There are clickable links available to you so that you may contact myself or other officers of the family.
These are just some of the benefits available now, and still more to come. So please stop in and see what we are doing to make things more fun and interesting for you.
As all of you should know by now our Recruitment page is now open for new members, so if you know of a person who could help the family, who is active in MW, and who would like to be a part of our mafia family, please refer them to Steve Lakey (Recruitment Officer). He will guide them through the joining process. ALL ARE WELCOME, but we would prefer those who are NOT tagged with other families, since we have had continual problems with players who have multiple tags. If someone you know wants to join, but has a tag with another family, please tell them to specify their tag to Mr. Lakey so that we can ensure that there will be no problems with them tagging into our family.
Thursday, the 23rd of September, we all were unable to get into Facebook for approximately two hours. There have been numerous emails and facebook messages which stated that the site was the victim of a hacker attack or virus, and that we should change our passwords. Although changing our passwords frequently is a good idea as part of any overall security program while we utilize open, public websites as massive as Facebook, there seems to be no need for password changes due to this Facebook failure. So, before you go take any actions regarding this downtime, go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/11403897 . This BBC site will tell you what Facebook said happened. We are going to be hosting another three day Ice Fest beginning on the second Friday of October (8th). Unlike our last Ice Fest, we will be allowing three winners total, not three per family. Therefore, you should get ready to have fun with a LOT of competition!! More details will be forthcoming in the near future, so stay tuned!

GAME TIPS FOR THIS WEEK

"Boss Fights in Vegas—the first level is easy to beat. The next two are much tougher. Many don’t realize that if you’re crushed you can leave, go to another city where the cost to heal does not matter, then return to Vegas, pay the stamina points and fight again. The Boss will not have Re-healed. You can do this repeatedly until you get them.
There was a Weapons glitch in Vegas earlier this week. On weapons glitches I strongly recommend you don’t waste your time. After hackers used gifting tools to Counterfeit Red Angels and Lottos in late May Zygna began adding a tracking code to all weapons and Lottos after that. That way they can Identify such a glitch and roll back, warn, or delete an account. Everyone I knew that used it was fully rolled back 2 days later.
The Zygna Tool Bar—I’ve noticed with all the Zygna and FB changes this week going on that it is not always working. I have also found when it did not work I could force the boost by putting following into the URL area. First put this one in and wait till the screen changes: http://toolbar.zynga.com/game_iframe_proxy.php?playing=true then put this second code in: http://toolbar.zynga.com/click.php?to=mwgamestatsplaynow
It will force the boost that Zygna is offering at that time if the 8 hours has passed.
The New Armory
Don’t waste your precious Armory parts building the junk producing Mystery Armors. Please just accumulate your armor parts. By the time you’re able to fully build your Armory you will at least be able to build a few nice pieces of Armor. The value in the armory are the top two Armors. It’s not their equipment strength that is interesting, it’s the skill points increase depending on your needs and where you are in the game. Personally I’m building the one that gives a 10 skill point increase to my health. I have a very large personal family. After three weeks of not being able to receive my request gifts I got in on Tuesday. I was able to upgrade my armory 5 levels in one day. Had two friends who shipped me the parts to upgrade to level 9 and started my building today.
The new armory Building parts are trade able for top weapons. The rates are high right now but the are dropping. If you need weapons I’d trade my armory building parts now. Later they will be in abundance. But 20 parts now could get you something like 100 marines. You may or may not know that the best way to accumulate extra Armory Parts is to attack someone else’s Armory.
The Lotto Collection—Vaulting it doubles your drop ratio on consumables and weapons when doing jobs. Due to the Counterfeits the values are way down. You can acquire any lotto for 4 to 5 Hunters, RG, or Mugs. This makes it very affordable for most players and lets you get more of those consumables and special weapons drops at twice the speed in Vegas.
